A checklist so you don’t forget the essentials when planning a the perfect French-style picnic!
How often do you go on picnics?
Well if you’re in Paris, you’ll notice that they’re kind of a way of life.
But it’s not rare to hear “nobody brought the wine opener?!” or to wind up with 8 baguettes and one tiny piece of cheese.
Planning is hard, people… especially if you want to have the perfect picnic in one of France’s most deliciously opulent places: Versailles!
That’s where this handy little 5-page checklist comes in. It’s packed with information about what to get for your picnic and where. The detailed map on page 2 shows you all the places we reference, from the RER station (though there’s more than one way to get to Versailles), to the market, to ATMs, to ideal picnic-ing locations.

Not to toot our own horn or anything (who are we kidding… TOOT TOOT), we have some pretty stellar Versailles walking tours like this one of the Palace and Royal gardens (available in summer), or this one of the Palace, Trianons, and Marie Antoinette’s hamlet (available year-round). Check ’em out!
